The married couple Prince Harry and actress Meghan Markle have shared their personal experiences as a royal member of Sussex for the first time during the exclusive clip of CBS This Morning interview with the host Oprah Winfrey that was aired on Sunday, March 7, 2021.

To know more about the inside story during the interview, we have listed the top 9 biggest secrets of “Harry and Meghan” behind the royal rift revelation:

1. Harry and Meghan ‘secretly married in their backyard’

Citing an insight during their interview with Oprah, Markle shared that no one knows that they secretly called an Archbishop to bless their union three days before their official wedding get to be publicized.

The two royalists wanted to get back to basics, their principle of having a moment for just the two of them before everybody else. So, the vows have been taken at the backyard just the two of them and the Archbishop of Canterbury.

2. Meghan was being ‘silenced’ to defend the false report

When the host Winfrey clarifies to Meghan when she just chooses to be “silent” or “silenced” during her time in the palace, the actress responded, “the latter.”

Meghan said she always valued independence as an advocate of women’s rights. The moment she was “given a very clear directive” to always comment “No” has brought anew after their marriage. Even the duchess’ friends and family were told to do the same.

“…I was not only protected but that they were willing to lie to protect other members of the family… they weren’t willing, to tell the truth, to protect me and my husband,” said Meghan.

3. Harry and Meghan first baby Archie’s skin becomes the talk

In May 2019, the Duke and Duchess shared the world of their first-born baby, but the months before the baby was born were filled with concerns about their baby’s skin color.

Meghan told Oprah, “In those months when I was pregnant, all around this same time, we have in tandem the conversation of he won’t be given security, he’s not going to be given a title, and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”

Neither Harry nor Meghan discloses whose royal member expressed concern about their baby’s skin complexion.

However, Oprah’s interview on This Morning CBS show ensured that “it was not his (Prince Harry’s) grandma (Queen Elizabeth II) nor his grandfather (Prince Philip) that were a part of those conversations.”

4. Harry and Meghan were financially cut off after leaving the palace

It was in the first quarter of 2020 when Prince Harry was cut off financially by his family and now living from his mother’s inheritance.

“I’ve got all my mom left me,” said Harry in the interview. The prince shared that they are feeling that this would be going to happen and it happened and he’s feeling his mother’s presence along the way.

5. Harry revealed his family wanted Meghan to stay in her acting career

The prince then during the interview with Oprah said that his family suggested to his wife to go on with her acting because” there wasn’t enough money to pay for her.”

Harry said this is one of the signs their marriage would be as tough.

6. Meghan handed over her personal belongings the time she married the prince

“When I joined that family, that was the last time until we came here, that I saw my passport, my driver’s license, (and) my keys. All that gets turned over,” said Meghan during the interview.

7. Meghan experienced suicidal thoughts

“I just didn’t want to be alive anymore,” said Meghan during her interview with Oprah.

The time when Meghan wanted to escape after been criticized too bad to want to consult into a mental-health institution, because of some racial discrimination matters, but she couldn’t get out because she was trapped without her personal belongings.

As Oprah emphasized her situation, “It’s like you were trapped and couldn’t get help, even though you’re on the verge of suicide,” and Meghan said it’s true.

Meghan, who sought help from the royal family, was ignored, and that’s the time she felt having some suicidal thoughts and a sense of loneliness and desolation.

8. None of the family say ‘sorry’ for the feeling the couple had left

Prince Harry answered the question with Oprah if any of his family members apologized to them for why they have gotten the decision to leave. And apparently, the Prince said, “No, sadly not.”

“The feeling is that this was our decision. Therefore the consequences are on us. And despite three years of asking for help and visualizing how this might end — it’s been really hard,” said the Prince.

In short, no one in the family has reached out and opened a conversation about the matter of why these couples need to leave their life as a royalist.

9. The issue of ‘racism’ was a large part of why the couple left the U.K.

The growing racism in the country was part of why the couple chose to live abroad and it was their decision that mattered.

The prince later told the host that it took him a long time to realize the realities of microaggressions and biases behind the UK press, most specifically the tabloids, the issues that have always been there and that it plays a “large part” in feeding information throughout the country.
