The Pasay City government on Monday declared 171 villages free from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) while its active cases are down to just 46.

The city government has recorded 14,411 total confirmed cases as of June 14 –– 13,978 of which are recoveries and 387 deaths.

Pasay’s positivity rate is at 12.73 percent, according to the City Health Office.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano urged residents not to be complacent despite the drastic decrease in active cases.

Pasay villages with two or more Covid-19 cases are placed under localized enhance community quarantine (LECQ) to further contain the transmission.

To date, the city has 22 households under LECQ.

The city government also ramped up its contract tracing efforts while the vaccination drive is ongoing.

Rubiano said the city government continues to implement the government’s prevent-detect-isolate-treat and reintegrate strategy to prevent the spread of infection within communities.

She also noted the need for cooperation and unity among residents to further halt the Covid-19 transmission.

Residents who don’t have essential travel outside their residences are urged to stay home. (PNA)
