The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Northern Mindanao has allocated PHP8 million for its Community-Driven Development (CDD) program in Tudela, Misamis Occidental, this year.

Mayor Samuel Parojinog said Wednesday the funding, part of DSWD-10’s Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) program, will benefit 25 barangays.

“Kalahi may have a small budget, but the outputs are many,” Parojinog said in an interview.

Managed by a Municipal Coordinating Team, the barangays will implement development projects using the CDD approach.

The municipal government has also contributed PHP955,000 in cash and PHP3.9 million in kind.

Since 2015, Kalahi-CIDSS has delivered 121 subprojects in Tudela, addressing gaps in basic infrastructure and development needs, particularly in Indigenous communities. (PNA)
