A total of 350 beneficiaries in Lingig, Surigao del Sur received Tuesday more than PHP2.6 million in payouts under of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 13’s (Caraga Region) Project LAWA at BINHI.
Each beneficiary received PHP7,700 after completing 15 days of community work, three days of learning and development sessions, and two days of sustainability training.
“This payout is one of many initiatives that recognize and reward the contributions of partner beneficiaries to their communities through various development activities,” the DSWD-13 said in a statement Wednesday.
Project LAWA at BINHI — short for Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency for Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished – aims to strengthen community resilience to climate change, focusing on water access and food security.
