President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has named Agusan del Norte Governor Dale Corvera as the new chairperson of the Regional Development Council (RDC) in Caraga Region.
The National Economic Development Authority in Caraga Region (NEDA-13) said Corvera’s appointment was signed by President Duterte on October 17, 2019.
Corvera’s appointment will start this year until 2022. He succeeded former RDC chair and Surigao del Norte Governor Sol Matugas.
The governor expressed gratitude to Duterte in a message posted on the Facebook account of the province of Agusan del Norte.
“Thank you so much President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for your trust and confidence in our capacity to lead in the development efforts of our region,” Covera said.
As RDC chairman, Corvera is tasked with steering the region’s highest policy-making body amid the government’s push to end armed communist conflicts in communities.
The governor has been active in the various activities initiated by the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) in the region.
He joined Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles and other top government officials of Caraga region during the 3rd RTF-ELCAC full council meeting on October 23 in Tandag City.
Corvera was also present during the conduct of “Serbisyo Caravan” for peace and development in Cabadbaran City last October 26. (PNA)
