The recovery rate of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) here remains high despite the 40 new more cases and three deaths in the last four days, a local health official announced.
Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said in a virtual press conference Friday evening that this city has recorded 3,428 recoveries or a 92-percent rate although the total tally of positives climbed to 3,725.
Miravite said of the total tally, 124 are active cases while the mortalities rose to 173 with the recorded three new deaths.
She added that of the 124 active cases, 27 are admitted at the government-owned Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC), 36 are confined in private hospitals while the remaining 61 are isolated in city government-operated facilities.
She called on the public anew to continue practicing minimum health standards amid the Covid-19 threat.
This as trips of inter-provincial buses, from and to the city, will resume on January 16.
“When people are more mobile, we have a high risk of getting infected, so the cases may increase,” Miravite said.
“If followed strictly, these protocols will prevent us from getting infected with the virus,” Miravite added. (PNA)
