Free! was never intended to become an anime. It was originally a commercial but it gained a cult following. Hence Kyoto Animation, the producer of “beautiful” anime heeded the calls.
It may be argued that Free!‘s target audience is mostly females, but it’s also under the category of sports anime. Also, the pretty boys won’t be the only ones that will mend your broken soul. The bright and crisp artwork will also soothe your eyes.
