From avoiding meat to not taking a bath at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, we Filipinos sure are still intact with the tradition our ancestors left with us during the Lenten season.

And it is not new to us since it was thought by our grandmothers who learned from their grandmothers too.

Here are 10 things, we commonly practice during the Lenten season.

1. Pabasa

This one is probably the highlight of the traditions Filipinos do during Holy Week. Usually, elders are involved here. They will then read an epic poem about the life, death and, resurrection of Jesus Christ. Kids will be quite mad at this because it needs not to be interrupted so they usually take turns. Sounds good for bookworms.
