The overall tally of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) recoveries nationwide rose to 2,090,228, with another 13,644 new recovered cases reported on Thursday.

In its latest Covid-19 bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) said the figure is equivalent to a 90.7-percent recovery rate out of a total of 2,304,192 who have contracted the disease nationwide.

The number of new infections, meanwhile, breached the 20,000-mark anew at 21,261, raising the active case tally to 177,946.

The DOH also logged 277 new fatalities, raising the death toll to 36,018.

The DOH said 12 duplicates were removed from the total case count.

“Some 80 duplicates were removed from the total case count as 65 of these are recoveries and one is death. Moreover, 174 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH said.

All laboratories were operational on Sept. 14, while two laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
