A 17-year-old from Cotabato, Philippines, clinches third place at the 27th Dubai International Holy Quran Contest, which ended on March 24, 2024.

Alhafidh Muzaher Suweb Bito proudly represented the Philippines in the distinguished competition conducted at the Culture and Science Symposium in Al Mamzar, Dubai, hosted by the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

The event was composed of six competitors from different countries, demonstrating their deep understanding of the Holy Quran along with their skills to recite it. It was organized by the Government of Dubai in an effort to help young individuals acquire a greater appreciation, awareness, and commitment to the teachings of the Quran.

Bito originates from the historic locale of Old Maganoy, within the Datu Abdullah Sangki district of Maguindanao del Sur, recognized for its vibrant cultural and religious legacy. His personal journey embodies the commitment to education within his community. He completed his elementary education at Dimampao Elementary School, Datu Abdullah Sangki, Maguindanao del Sur, as part of the Class of 2022, and is presently pursuing further studies at Markadz Ebrahim in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.

Bito’s parents, who are renowned educators in Islamic and Arabic Language (ISAL) at Dimampao Elementary School, have undoubtedly influenced his spiritual formation and moral upbringing, demonstrating to him the principles that are deeply rooted in his cultural heritage.

In response to his remarkable achievement, the Bangsamoro Government’s Facebook page proudly extended its warmest congratulations to Bito.

“Your exceptional victory is a testament that every Bangsamoro can perform and compete in the international sphere. Your devotion, mastery, and spiritual connection are truly commendable. May this award inspire the younger Bangsamoro generation,” it read.
