About 5,000 vacancies will be up for grabs at Labor Day job fairs on May 1, the Department of Labor and Employment-Central Visayas (DOLE-7) said on Monday.

Lilia Estillore, regional director of DOLE-7, said two job fairs will be held simultaneously at Robinsons Galleria here and the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

The vacancies will be offered by at least 50 participating employers.

She urged jobseekers to pre-register online ahead of May 1 to refrain from being caught in the influx of people joining the event.

“We are posting on our Facebook page so that job seekers will have enough time to shop for positions they feel applying to in advance,” Estillore told the Philippine News Agency, adding that after finalizing the vacancies per company, they will start releasing the initial list of available positions.

Those who are looking for a job in Cebu can click https://bit.ly/Register-LaborDayJFCebu2023 for pre-registration, while those who are in Dumaguete can click https://bit.ly/Register-LaborDayJFNegros2023.

Applicants are reminded to bring an updated resume, certificates of employment, pen, alcohol, and other pre-employment documentary requirements.

One-stop-shop services such as Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s scholarships and skills demonstration as well as the Department of Trade and Industry’s one-on-one business advisory and business registration will also be available during the job fair.

Estillore also said Kadiwa Ng Pangulo outlets where various products and farm produce will be on sale at low prices will be organized by the Department of Agriculture in both job fair venues. (PNA)
