The Philippine Air Force (PAF), through its Bids and Awards Committee, is looking for suppliers or contractors capable of repairing and overhauling three pairs of ejection seats of its SIAI-Marchetti S-211 jet trainers.

Budget for the project is placed at PHP22 million, the bid bulletin posted at the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System said.

“The Philippine Air Force reserves the right to reject any and all bids, declare a failure of bidding, or not award the contract at any time prior to contract award in accordance with Section 41 of RA 9184 and its IRR without thereby incurring any liability to the affected bidder or bidders,” PAF Bids and Awards Committee chair, Brig. Gen. Carlo Bueno N. Buena said in the same bid bulletin.

Deadline of submission and opening of bids is on October 4, 2 p.m., at the PAF Procurement Center Conference Room, Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.

Prospective bidders should have an experience in a similar project within the last five years.

The S-211 is the basic jet trainer of the PAF. Around three to five units are still operational.

The PAF originally acquired 24 units during the early 90’s as a backstop for its Northrop F-5 “Tiger” fighter fleet.

The aircraft can also be used for ground attack and patrol missions. (PNA)
