MMDA Tasked To Coordinate Effort to Beat COVID-19 in NCR

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will serve as coordinating agency in the country’s fight against coronavirus disease (covid-19) in Metro Manila.

A video conference call meeting was held yesterday among the Metro Manila Mayors and Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea together with MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim, DPWH Sec. Mark Villar, Chief Implementor Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr., Sec. Vince Dizon, MMDA GM Jojo Garcia, PNP Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, NCRPO Chief Gen. Debold Sinas, AFP-JTF Gen. Alex Luna, DILG and DOH, to discuss closely the over-all covid-19 response activities for the National Capital Region (NCR).

In the meeting, the Metro Manila Mayors have expressed their deep appreciation to the President for his continuous assistance and monitoring of the situation in Metro Manila.

To further ensure the National Government’s seamless and timely assistance for NCR, the MMDA was also tasked to serve as the coordinating agency in determining how to further assist the seventeen (17) local government units and coordinating immediately to the National Government their respective requests and concerns for immediate action.

ES Medialdea further assured the Metro Manila mayors of the President’s unwavering support in the collective fight against covid-19.
