The city government here is encouraging residents who wish to avail themselves of the free coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine to take part in the electronic immunization pre-registration.

City Mayor Cristy Angeles said on Wednesday that residents aged 18 to 59 years old interested to receive free Covid-19 shots can register through www.tarlaccity.gov.ph/register.

“Makakatulong ito upang mas mapabilis ang proseso ng pamimigay ng free vaccine para sa mga boluntaryo at kwalipikadong makatanggap nito sa ilalim ng programang Angel Bakuna Laban sa Covid-19 (This will help speed up the process of distributing free vaccines to volunteers and those eligible to receive them under the Angel Bakuna Laban sa Covid-19),” Angeles said in an official social media post.

She assured that the city government will only procure and use vaccines that have been approved by the government’s regulatory agencies to assure their safety and efficacy.

“Ang Tarlac city government ay handa at kasalukuyang nakikipag-ugnayan sa national government at Department of Health (DOH) kung kaya tayo po ay hinihiling na maging panatag na tanging sertipikado lang ng awtoridad ang bibilhing bakuna upang matiyak na epektibo ito at ligtas gamitin (The Tarlac city government is ready and is currently coordinating with the national government and the Department of Health so we ask everyone to be calm because only the vaccine certified by the authorities will be purchased to ensure that it is effective and safe to use),” Angeles said.

The mayor stressed that getting the vaccination is voluntary and free.

So far, she said that there is no specific vaccine brand yet that the city government will procure as they are waiting for guidelines from the DOH and Food and Drug Administration. (PNA)
