A 365-lineal meter bridge inaugurated by President Rodrigo Duterte in April 2018 is one of the projects and accomplishments that will be highlighted during Mimaropa’s pre-State-of-the-Nation Address (SONA) set on Tuesday.

The Lisap Bridge in Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro has an allocation of PHP317.8 million but the Department of Public Works and Highway-Mimaropa spent only PHP259.1 million.

The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)-Mimaropa attributed the lower expenses to “savings in materials and efficient implementation” of the project.

The improvements at the Puerto Princesa International Airport will also be included during the presentation of Duterte’s legacies in Mimaropa during the pre-SONA at the Bulwagang Panlalawigan, Provincial Capitol Grounds in Calapan City.

The airport’s remarkable projects include a terminal building spanning 13,000 square meters with 150 seating capacity, parking lots for over 200 vehicles, and 2,600 meters runway.

The creation of the Mimaropa Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) also led to the neutralization of more than 100 communist terrorist groups and new economic opportunities for former rebels who are now living peacefully with their loved ones after returning to the fold of the law.

The pre-SONA is dubbed as “Pamana ng Pagbabago: Kasama sa Pamana” or “Kasama sa Pamana Pre-SONA.”

Organized by the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) in collaboration with the NEDA, the Province of Oriental Mindoro, Calapan City, and the Mimaropa Regional Task Force ELCAC, Kasama sa Pamana Pre-SONA aims at reporting the services, programs, and projects that were carried out in Mimaropa from agri-fisheries programs to Covid-19 responses.

The Pre-SONA will be covered by Radio-TV Malacañang and livestreamed over the Facebook pages of RTVM, PCOO, and PIA Mimaropa.

Mimoropa region is composed of Mindoro Oriental and Occidental, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan. (PNA)
