The nation’s overall tally of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients who beat the disease have reached 1,709,724 as 14,565 new recoveries were recorded as of Tuesday.

The Department of Health (DOH) said the figure is equivalent to a 91.4-percent recovery rate from a total of 1,869,691 infections since the start of the pandemic last year.

The DOH also tallied 12,067 new confirmed cases, bringing the total number of active cases in the country to 127,703 or 6.8 percent of all cases.

Of the active cases, 95.5 percent are mild, 1.7 percent are asymptomatic, 1.2 percent are severe, 0.93 percent are moderate, and 0.6 percent are in critical condition.

Also logged were 303 new fatalities, raising the death toll to 32,264 or 1.73 percent of the total cases.

The DOH said 22 duplicates were removed from the total case count as 15 of those were actually recoveries.

Meanwhile, 161 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

According to DOH data on August 22, about 24.9 percent of 45,593 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

All laboratories were operational on August 22 while ten laboratories were able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

Based on the data in the last 14 days, the 10 non-reporting laboratories contribute on average, 3.9 percent of samples tested, and 4.4 percent of positive individuals.
