Some 2,362 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) have been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of the first week of December.

Data on Thursday showed the number already represents 99 percent of the 2,386 total strength of the provincial police.

Lt. Abegael Donasco, the spokesperson of NOCPPO, said the remaining 24 are still unvaccinated for various reasons and have signed waivers submitted to the Police Regional Office-6.

Among those inoculated, 2,030 have received either one or two doses while 332 received only the first dose.

The NOCPPO personnel have been administered Sinovac’s CoronaVac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and single-dose Janssen jabs.

Vaccinated police personnel availed themselves of the Covid-19 shots from the provincial government and the host-local government units of the 31 city and municipal stations as well as mobile force companies across the province.

As of Dec. 6, NOCPPO has logged 244 Covid-19 cases, but only one remaining active infection. It has recorded 241 recoveries and two deaths. (PNA)
