Romuel Dojaylo of Roxas City, Capiz, has been dubbed an art prodigy for his excellent abilities in expressing art through painting high-definition seeming images, known as hyperrealism paintings, at such a young age.
Netizens were surprised when Dojaylo revealed that he only started painting in 2021. What inspires him to paint is his cousin, John Cyril Dojaylo, who was featured in June last year because of his viral painting named “Me, Myself, and I,” which also gathered thousands of reactions and shares online.
Dojaylo admitted that he asked his cousin to teach him how to paint because he also wanted to express himself through painting and to become a great and famous painter like his cousin.
This 13-year-old youngster possesses exceptional artistic talent and abilities. He’s now referred to as a “child prodigy.” Child prodigies are exceptionally rare, and these children can easily write their names into history as a result of their extraordinary abilities. Only ten out of every 50 million people have the potential to become child prodigies.
Now that he’s making headlines online and has also been featured by different news publishers online and on TV, Romuel proved that Filipinos are great when it comes to art.
In one of his famous paintings, Romuel painted his lola in a hyperrealism style. To think that this is his only second attempt at portrait painting is extremely unbelievable, yet fascinating. The painting looks so real that it seems like it is a high-definition image printed and pasted on a large canvas.
After making rounds on the internet, he has also been featured in One Western Bisaya on GMA. Romuel thanked his fans for all of their messages and compliments.
“Thank you so much, One Western Visayas on GMA, sa pag-feature sa akin at sa gawa ko. First time kong lumabas sa TV. Dati pangarap ko lang ‘to ngayon ito na. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng blessings and achievements, Lord. Thank you din sa lahat ng mga sumusuporta sa ‘kin. More features to come,” Dojaylo wrote on his Facebook account.
It should come as no surprise that Filipinos are talented painters. Juan Luna, Fernando Amorsolo, Botong Francisco, and other well-known Filipino painters are among them. And, despite his age, there is no doubt that Romuel will continue to develop his talent as he grows older.
