Actress Miles Ocampo revealed on a local show that she recently underwent surgery due to a thyroid problem.

During her guesting on a local show, Ocampo showed the scar on her neck and disclosed a major operation due to her thyroid issue.

The actress disclosed that she was able to feel symptoms last year while taping for one of her current television series.

“Parang late last year ko pa naramdaman, ‘yung feeling ko parang lagi akong hapong-hapo. Tapos ‘yung feeling ko laging may nakasakal sa akin. Hingalin po ako, nilalamig ako bigla or bigla akong naiinitan. So sabi ko, parang may something na,” she said.

After noticing the symptoms, Ocampo said that she immediately sought medical assistance and underwent some tests, including blood tests, an ultrasound, and a biopsy.

“So nagpa-blood test [ako]. Sabi, it has something to do with my thyroid po. But at that time, hindi rin po siya hypo, and hindi rin siya hyper.”

Later on, she was asked to consider undergoing surgery after seeing the results of her ultrasound and biopsy.

“Sa biopsy, ang sabi sakin ng doctor ko, two options lang pero kahit ano, kailangan natin siyang tanggalin.” she disclosed.

Ocampo also said that the doctor gave her three months to decide regarding her operation.

In the end, the actress decided to pursue the operation and was not able to participate in some of her television guestings and shows until the last minute.

Ocampo expressed her happiness with her decision, saying, “Ang bilis ng pangyayari. Kung hindi ko siya naagapan, may chance na mas kumalat siya, mas lumala.”

This medical emergency that happened to the actress was not only disclosed as transparency for her health but also to raise awareness of their personal health, which may be the same as what happened to Ocampo.
