Starting June, they will be assigned to different departments of the capitol under “Work Readiness Program” for fresh college graduates in the province, according to Anne Marie Lizette Atuan, manager of the Public Employment Service Office, in an interview on Friday.
Launched in 2022, the six-month internship program helps fresh graduates prepare or find employment.
“Interns shall receive a minimum salary of PHP400 per day,” said Atuan.
Twenty-three in the first batch of interns were hired last year by the Communication and Media Office, Information Technology Department and Provincial Library, among others.
Qualified interns must be belong to the top 10 percent of their graduating class as verified by the schools, have completed a four-year college course with a good moral certificate, and have demonstrated civic consciousness via active engagement in community youth initiatives.
The documentary requirements for internship application include a transcript of record, diploma or certification of graduation, medical certificate with Covid-19 vaccination compliance card, and other documents issued by the school and the village of residence. (PNA)
