Five major infrastructure projects worth PHP10.5 million were turned over to recipient barangays in San Jose town of Dinagat Islands province following their completion, an official said Friday.
In a statement, Governor Nilo Demerey Jr. said the projects amounting to PHP10.5 million” is part of our recovery efforts from the destruction of our infrastructures in the recent calamities that hit the province.”
The projects are funded under the 20 percent development fund of the provincial government for 2022, he added.
Among the projects handed over to the San Jose villages were the rehabilitated Agri-Fishery Resource and Bagsakan Center in Barangay Cuarinta worth; the concreted Kadasig Road from Barangay Luna to Cuarinta; and the rehabilitated Wilson to Sta. Cruz Road.
Also turned over were the access road and lined canal in Barangay San Juan in San Jose and the completed land development project at the 402.8-hectare provincial government center in the town center.
Seven barangays in different Dinagat municipalities also received their Barangay Development Support Fund from the provincial government amounting to PHP365,000.
The barangays include Roxas and Quezon in the town of Libjo; Cuarinta and Don Ruben in San Jose; Montag in Basilisa; Del Pilar in Cagdianao; and Cabilan in Dinagat.
Four of the recipient barangays also received PHP50,000 each except for Quezon, Del Pilar, and Montag which were given PHP72,000, PHP70,000 and PHP25,000 respectively. (PNA)
