The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) has inaugurated Thursday its new and accessible office in Quezon City.

CFO chairperson Romulo Arugay said the transfer to Quezon Avenue from Paco, Manila would allow them to service Filipino migrants with modernized facilities.

“The transfer of CFO to a new location with more accessibility into modern facilities and digitized services is only one among the very steps that the commission has taken to ensure that we contribute to the Philippine government’s goal of enhancing bureaucratic efficiency,” Arugay said in his speech during the inauguration.

The CFO’s office is now strategically located in The Upper Class building on Quezon Avenue, near major public transport systems such as the MRT-3 and more accessible to clients through buses, UV express, and jeepney.

“For almost 30 years, the CFO was housed at its old location in Paco, Manila, and now the CFO is ready for a brand new start at its new home here in the beautiful city of Quezon,” Arugay said.

The transfer would streamline the delivery of services with more secure management and information systems and improve the process flow of transactions.

Senior Deputy Executive Secretary Hubert Guevara, one of the attendees to the inauguration, expressed hope that with improved working conditions, the commission would continue to ensure orderly migration.

“Now is not the time to rest on your laurels or indulge in your achievement, instead the CFO must maintain a burning desire to assist and extend a helping hand to Overseas Filipinos,” he said.

The CFO under the Office of the President is tasked to promote and uphold the interests, rights and welfare of overseas Filipinos. (PNA)
