The MaArte Fair, a distinguished event on the Philippine cultural calendar, is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year with an exciting new theme: “Fab Finds.”

Building on the success of 2023’s “In Full Bloom,” this year’s fair promises an even more vibrant and impactful experience since it was first held in 2009, showcasing the best of Filipino craftsmanship while raising awareness for endangered species.

Under the leadership of President Danny Jacinto and Vice President Gemma Cruz Araneta, the MaArte Fair has consistently championed the excellence of Filipino artisans. This year, the fair will spotlight the Philippines’ endangered fauna, including the Sea Turtle, Crocodile, Philippine Eagle, Tamaraw, and Tarsier. Jacinto emphasizes the fair’s dual focus: “This year is all about discovering Fab Finds with a purpose. More than just bringing home beautiful and high-quality pieces, shoppers are contributing to the awareness of heritage conservation, especially our endangered animals.”

The “Fab Finds” theme signals a larger, more dynamic event compared to previous years. Scheduled to take place from August 29 to September 1, 2024, at The Peninsula Manila, the fair will be held across multiple venues within the hotel. Visitors can explore artisanal treasures in the Rigodon Ballroom, Garcia Villa, Balagtas, and Balmori Rooms, as well as new spaces in The Conservatory and Upper Lobby.

This year’s fair will feature 147 exhibitors, offering a diverse range of Filipino-made products, from fashion accessories to refined pottery. Each piece reflects the rich heritage and high standards of Filipino craftsmanship, ensuring a unique and purpose-filled shopping experience.

As a flagship program of the Museum Foundation, MaArte Fair plays a crucial role in supporting Filipino artisans and preserving the country’s cultural and historical legacy. The fair’s proceeds contribute to various initiatives, including study grants, exhibitions, and workshops that promote Philippine art and culture. Noteworthy projects funded by the Museum Foundation include significant renovations at the National Museum of Fine Arts and the National Museum of Natural History.

MaArte Fair at The Pen: Fab Finds is co-presented by Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and promises to be a landmark event for both shoppers and supporters of Philippine heritage.
