Some 448 health program partners in Eastern Visayas were recognized by the Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday for their role in achieving milestones in the region.

DOH Eastern Visayas Regional Director Exuperia Sabalberino said during the gathering at the Summit Hotel here that they gave awards on the sidelines of this year’s health summit from Dec. 10 to 11.

“This year’s health summit focuses on acknowledging progress and celebrating milestones, aimed at recognizing and honoring outstanding DOH partner facilities and organizations for their tireless public service and contributions to improving the healthcare system across Eastern Visayas,” Sabalberino said.

Awardees include local government units, government hospitals, partner national government agencies, non-government organizations, media, health volunteers, and private establishments.

“Our partnership reminds us that by working together, we can achieve desired health outcomes for the region,” Sabalberino added.

The regional health summit and awards are anchored on the theme “From Commitment to Achievement: Celebrating Health Milestones in Eastern Visayas.” (PNA)
