The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) household beneficiaries and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel will join the June 9-13 annual maintenance activity of the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Antique.

Jeffrey Gabucay, Antique Pantawid Provincial Link, said in an interview Monday that they gave instructions for 4Ps parents to coordinate with the principals or school heads of public schools so they could help clean classrooms and school premises during the Brigada Eskwela.

“It is our commitment and responsibility to assist in the Brigada Eskwela,” Gabucay said.

Antique has around 23,000 household beneficiaries who receive cash grants for the education and health needs of their children.

Meanwhile, BFP Antique Senior Fire Officer 2 Ramil Escander said they received an invitation from DepEd Antique for the Brigada Eskwela.

“The BFP will be helping in the Brigada Eskwela depending on the nature of work requested by the school principals or heads,” Escander said.

He said that last year, they constructed a footwalk at the Talisay Elementary School in the municipality of Anini-y, while they did classroom repainting and cleaned school premises in other municipalities.

The theme for this year’s activity is “Brigada Eskwela: Sama-sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa,” underscoring the collective effort in providing a clean, safe, and conducive learning environment for both learners and teachers with priority in literacy development.
