The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 10 (Northern Mindanao) announced on Wednesday the upcoming launch of the Innovation Hub (iHub) in Misamis Occidental province.

In a statement, DOST-10 said that the launch of the iHub is one of the highlights of the Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW), which is slated at Bayfront Arena in Oroquieta City from Oct. 1-3.

“The facility is envisioned as a collaborative space for innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs to co-create solutions that respond to local challenges,” the statement said.

The iHub in Misamis Occidental will be the second in the region, following the Aug. 4 launch of a similar facility in this city, along with the Advanced Manufacturing Center.

The RSTW is the regional counterpart of the annual celebration of the National Science and Technology Week as mandated under Presidential Proclamation No. 780, signed in 2019. (PNA)
