A farmers association in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, received PHP1 million worth of livelihood starter kits from the Department of Labor and Employment in Caraga Region (DOLE-13) on Tuesday.
The San Jose Prosperidad Integrated Farmers Association (SJPIFA) got 505 sacks of rice and other materials for its retail operations.
DOLE-13 Regional Director Jason Balais led the turnover under the agency’s DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program.
“Maintain accurate financial records and documentation to ensure transparency and accountability in all your transactions,” Balais told the association members.
SJPIFA president Demetrio Glodobe Jr. conveyed the group’s appreciation for the government support.
“We are thankful for the opportunity given to us by the government to expand our business venture and ensure the additional source of income of our members,” Glodobe said.
Earlier Tuesday, DOLE-13 also released PHP2 million to five micro, small and medium enterprises in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, through its Adjustment Measures Program designed to help them adapt to market conditions. (PNA)
