A total of 100,179 households are set to exit or graduate from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) this year, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reported Tuesday.

In a report, DSWD – Western Visayas Regional Director Joselito Estember said this is on top of the 117,850 households that have already graduated since the 4Ps was implemented.

Estember said the government has invested in case workers who will look into the households that are no longer part of the program for the case management process to ensure they achieve self-sufficiency status (Level 3) based on the social welfare and development indicator.

They also encouraged local government units to implement “aftercare” after the households graduate from the program.

“Not all graduated at Level 3; others, we call it natural attrition. They graduated because they no longer have children between zero and 18 years old. But the big percentage graduated from the program because they achieved the self-sufficiency level,” he said during the Kapihan sa PIA Western Visayas.

Self-sufficiency means the household has the capacity to support and sustain its daily needs.

Estember said they are happy to report that many 4Ps-monitored children have graduated from college and became professionals that include lawyers, doctors, nurses, engineers, teachers, midwives and police and fire officers, among others.

“Some of them even topped the board exams in their chosen fields,” he said.

He added that they are also waiting for guidance from the Central Office for additional or replacement beneficiaries for households that have exited the program.

As of Jan. 5, Western Visayas has 151,801 households that are still enrolled with the program, with 274,873 children being monitored from elementary to senior high school under its educational conditionalities.

They are also monitoring 10,384 beneficiaries under the First 1,000 Days (F1KD), where an additional monthly cash grant of PHP350 is provided for pregnant women and children zero to two years old.

In 2025, the DSWD disbursed PHP4.1 billion for cash grants to 4Ps beneficiaries. (PNA)
