COREnergy, the retail electricity supplier of Vivant Energy, has signed a retail electricity supply agreement with DEDON Manufacturing, Inc., the Philippine manufacturing arm of one of the world’s leading luxury outdoor furniture brands. The two-year agreement, covering a contracted capacity of 0.55 megawatts (MW), marks an important first for COREnergy: DEDON is the inaugural customer of the company’s new Sunshine Plan.

The Sunshine Plan is an innovative electricity solution that combines stable daytime rates backed by solar generation with flexible market pricing during off-peak hours—giving businesses a way to align their electricity costs with how and when they actually operate.

Founded in Germany in 1990, DEDON has built a global reputation for redefining outdoor living through award-winning furniture that combines pioneering material innovation with exceptional craftsmanship. Just four years after its founding, the company chose Cebu as its manufacturing home, recognizing the island as home to some of the world’s most skilled weavers. Today, its Cebu production facilities remain at the heart of DEDON’s global operations, producing handcrafted furniture for luxury residences, hotels, resorts, yachts, and hospitality destinations in more than 100 countries.

For manufacturers like DEDON, electricity is more than a utility expense—it is a critical input that powers every stage of production. From operating specialized equipment and supporting quality control systems to enabling the intricate hand-weaving of DEDON’s signature fiber, dependable electricity helps ensure every piece meets the exacting standards expected by customers around the world.

As a manufacturer with predominantly daytime operations, DEDON is well positioned to benefit from COREnergy’s Sunshine Plan, which offers stable daytime electricity rates powered predominantly by solar generation and variable Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) pricing during non-solar hours. By aligning its energy strategy with its operating profile, the company can optimize one of its largest operating expenses while advancing its broader sustainability initiatives.

Over the years, DEDON has continued to push the boundaries of outdoor design through proprietary fiber technologies, collaborations with internationally acclaimed designers, and innovations such as EcoCycle Fiber, reflecting the company’s long-standing commitment to quality, sustainability, and continuous innovation. The company’s adoption of the Sunshine Plan represents another step toward operating more efficiently while remaining true to the values that have defined the brand for more than 30 years.

“For more than three decades, DEDON has been committed to creating world-class outdoor furniture through exceptional craftsmanship, innovation, and the dedication of our people in Cebu,” said Rosy Grace Cabradilla, General Director of DEDON Manufacturing, Inc. “Innovation also means continuously improving how we operate our business. As a manufacturing facility with significant daytime operations, the Sunshine Plan aligns well with our energy profile while supporting our ongoing sustainability initiatives. We’re pleased to be the first company to adopt this offering and look forward to growing our partnership with COREnergy.”

Likewise, COREnergy continues to empower businesses through innovative energy solutions that improve operational efficiency while supporting customers’ evolving business needs. Through offerings such as the Sunshine Plan, businesses can align their electricity consumption with their operating profile, enabling them to maximize the value of daytime solar generation while maintaining the flexibility needed for round-the-clock operations.

“DEDON’s adoption of the Sunshine Plan is an early signal of where we see this product going,” said Marko Sarmiento, Vice President and Head of Operations of COREnergy. “There’s a growing segment of manufacturers whose operations are concentrated during the day, and we built this plan specifically for them. We’re excited to bring this same value to more businesses across our manufacturing portfolio in the months ahead.”

The partnership also reflects the growing role of innovative energy solutions in strengthening Philippine manufacturing. As businesses increasingly seek ways to improve competitiveness while advancing their sustainability commitments, COREnergy remains committed to developing customer-centric electricity solutions that help businesses grow, innovate, and thrive.
