Benildean Inclusion Stories, a dialogue where students and young professionals with Specific Learning Needs (SLN) share their journeys, will be back online on Thursday, June 1, 2023.

The initiative was organized by the Center for Inclusive Education (CIE) and Best Buddies Benilde (BBB) of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in their mutual pursuit to advocate and promote sensitivity towards diverse individuals and help build a welcoming and accepting environment in the community and beyond.

The upcoming session will feature Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) alumna Therese Anne “Tricie” Mendoza, the digital media service specialist of TRUNC.ph, the e-commerce website of fashion retail giant Store Specialist, Inc.

She will walk the participants into her life as a person with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and share her experience as a former case student for the Center for Inclusive Education.

She will narrate how she found a safe space in the college and how support services and mission of inclusive education guided her in pursuing and excelling in her present professional career.

Equipped with life lessons of her own, the young artist will likewise take the opportunity to impart important tips to those who are struggling in the areas of learning and socialization.

Filipino Sign Language (FSL) interpreters will be available.

Benildean Inclusion Stories is free and open to the public. It will be conducted online via Zoom on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
