The country’s celebration of the holiday season concluded without major incidents, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said Friday.

“Overall, the recently concluded Yuletide Season was generally peaceful from a security perspective. The AFP continued its internal security operations and augmented various agencies and law enforcement to ensure an orderly and safe celebration of the holiday season,” AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla said in a message to the Philippine News Agency.

Padilla said military personnel were on duty during the holidays, thus the peaceful celebrations.

“(This was) made possible by the heroism and sacrifice of our soldiers, marines, airmen, and sailors, who worked tirelessly—even during the holidays — to protect our nation,” she added.

Padilla said the military personnel on duty gave essence to service and patriotism.

In a separate message to the PNA, AFP public affairs office chief Col. Xerxes Trinidad said Filipinos were was able to celebrate the holiday season safely and without disruption.

“The AFP is committed to maintaining security during these significant events, helping to foster both the solemn and festive spirits of the season,” he added. (PNA)
