At least 300 patients per day can now enjoy free healthcare services after the municipal government of Daraga opened its third mobile laboratory and diagnostic clinic in Albay province.

Honeybet Sulivan, Daraga information officer, said the Arangkada Banwa Mobile Laboratory and Clinics (ABMLCs) Bus is an additional facility to the two mobile ABMLC vans that are already giving quality healthcare services to the townsfolk.

Sulivan said the ABMLC can provide medical laboratory tests ranging from urinalysis, blood tests, digital X-ray and electrocardiogram (ECG), to ultrasound.

“Ultrasound for whole abdomen, kidney, gallbladder, urinary bladder, breast, thyroid, liver, prostate and prenatal or ultrasound for pregnant women are also available. The ABMLC Bus is a fully-airconditioned with a comfortable lounge for waiting patients,” she noted.

As of this writing, the ABMLC is stationed in front of the Rural Health Unit (RHU) beside the Daraga covered court.

“For those who want to avail of free medical services, go to the Daraga Covered Court, Monday to Friday (except holidays), from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. For ultrasound, 10 slots per day will be available, on a first-come, first-served basis with the following requirements — valid identification card, certificate of indigency and doctor’s request,” she said.

The ABMLC is one of the projects of Mayor Awin Baldo to provide quality healthcare services to its residents, especially those in far-flung areas.

Sulivan said in 2022, a total of 15,312 patients were accommodated by the two mobile clinics stationed for two days in every barangay of the town. (PNA)
