The city government here will start the house-to-house vaccination against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) using a mobile clinic and ambulance on Aug. 11.

Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said on Saturday the new inoculation scheme will kick off in Barangay Virgen Delos Remedios, targeting 1,063 residents.

“Susuyurin po natin ang 33 barangays sa pagbabakuna. Magsisimula muna po tayo sa maliliit na barangays. Tayo na po mismo ang lalapit at pupunta upang dalhin ang bakuna sa bawat tahanan ng mga Angeleños (We will comb the 33 villages for vaccination. We will start first in small villages. We will be the one to come and go to bring the vaccine in every home of the Angeleños),” Lazatin said in an official social media account post.

The mayor said the vaccination at the City College of Angeles and Angeles City National High School will continue as well as the house-to-house inoculation of bedridden seniors and persons with disabilities.

Irish Calaguas, Lazatin’s chief adviser, said the vaccination will be the same as the onsite one, which includes screening and counseling, vaccination, and post-monitoring.

Alongside the mobile clinic are a standby ambulance with medical responders and nurse staff from Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and one mobile utility vehicle of support staff from Gender and Development, City Social Welfare and Development Office, the City Nutrition Office, and the Mayor’s Office.

Lazatin earlier asked the Department of Health (DOH) to allow the city government to do door-to-door vaccination with its established guidelines, which is the initial plan of the city.

Angeles City now has the highest number of inoculated individuals per day in Pampanga province at more than 4,000 daily vaccinations.

The DOH has also granted Angeles City “green status” which means the inoculation system is efficient, City Health Officer-in-Charge Dr. Verona Guevarra said.

To date, 94,745 Angeleños have received their first dose of vaccines while 54,016 are fully vaccinated.

The DOH sent Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Janssen vaccines. (PNA)
