Beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Antique now have access to subsidies under the Department of Energy’s (DOE) lifeline rate program through the Antique Electric Cooperative (Anteco), the province’s sole power distributor.

Jeffrey Gabucay, Antique Pantawid Provincial Link officer, said Friday they are actively helping 4Ps households apply for the program to ease their monthly electricity expenses.

“The 4Ps household beneficiaries who have not yet availed of the program may submit their latest electric bill or certification if they are just sharing with another household, so we can forward these to Anteco,” he said.

Applicants can submit their requirements to their respective municipal Pantawid offices for processing.

Gabucay noted that Antique has the highest number of 4Ps enrollees in the lifeline rate program across Western Visayas.

He added that support is also being extended to 4Ps households in areas served by the Aklan Electric Cooperative (Akelco), including the island municipality of Caluya.

“We are also assisting 4Ps in the northern part of Antique that are being served by the Aklan Electric Cooperative (Akelco) and in the island municipality of Caluya in their applications,” Gabucay said.

Anteco General Manager Neal Peter Veñegas encouraged more 4Ps members to apply, noting that households consuming 15 kilowatt hours (kWh) or less per month qualify for a 7 percent discount, while those consuming 16 kWh to 20 kWh get a 5 percent discount.

Anteco’s rate for May stood at PHP12.82 per kWh. (PNA)
