The Biliran provincial government is visiting public high schools to bring services and hear the concerns of teachers and learners.

Biliran Governor Rogelio Espina said in a statement on Thursday that the campus tour under the “Sagip Edukasyon” program will visit all 23 national high schools in the province within the year.

“To make our campus tour more fulfilling, we are providing medicines for both the teachers and students and providing hot meals for all. This initiative also includes addressing the various concerns of our teachers and students,” Espina said.

The governor kicked off the program on July 23 at Lucsoon National High School (LNHS) in the province’s capital town of Naval.

Espina said he found out that the school needs a classroom for technical-vocational livelihood track, one of the tracks of the senior high school program. The governor also noticed an overcrowding in some classrooms.

“The technical-vocational livelihood course for senior high school will be abolished if there is no classroom available. We will attend to this immediately to save our technical-vocational course at LNHS,” the governor said.

The team from the governor’s office has been coordinating with school heads ahead of the campus tour to prepare students and teachers for the activity. (PNA)
