A total 681 farmers from 16 villages in Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte received over PHP7 million worth of government-provided agricultural inputs on Friday to help them recover from calamities earlier this year.

The Department of Agriculture (DA), in coordination with the provincial and municipal governments, distributed fertilizers and various seed varieties, including hybrid rice, corn, and vegetables.

One of the beneficiaries, Simplicio Nacorda, expressed gratitude after receiving fertilizers and hybrid rice seeds.

“The government is here to assist us, especially since we need support to recover from the damage caused by flooding,” Nacorda said.

Another farmer, Margie Sulit, said the vegetable seeds and fertilizers she received would help restore their farm’s productivity.

“These seeds will replace the vegetables in our farm, which were damaged by the past calamities, and the fertilizers will boost our production,” Sulit said.

Las Nieves Mayor Karen Rosales said “the local government unit and the farmers of Las Nieves are thankful to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the DA for the provision of funding for these agricultural inputs.” (PNA)
