The Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center (CGHMC) on Monday signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with various news agencies to provide discounted healthcare services.

CGHMC president and chief executive officer Kelly Sia said the signing is a shared commitment to the well-being of health and media communities, focusing on partnership, engagement and collaboration.

“CGHMC is your partner in health to cultivate a healthy workplace, we offer special discounts on laboratory services and room rates,” he said.

“We understand the importance of looking after your body, because a healthy body and mind to a healthy life,” he added.

Throughout the pandemic, the CGHMC learned that proper information and communication make up the first line of defense for the public.

Hence, the role of media in sharing reliable information and the provison of regular updates is critical to public safety.

“This opens doors to joint projects and promotions as well as creating and sharing educational and uplifting stories. Together, we can amplify messages that matter to our communities,” Sia said.

The partnership, he said, will also be a platform for exchanging ideas, best practices, and knowledge, and for delivering medical updates and their impact on community health.

On behalf of the media representatives present, Philippine Daily Inquirer president and chief executive officer Rudyard Arbolado thanked the CGHMC for the hospitalization benefits and medical services discounts for qualified media members.

“This local initiative presents CGHMC’s commitment to promoting goodwill by making medical services more accessible to members of media. We really appreciate this gesture, as support for the media in fulfilling its vital roles in serving the public,” he said.

Through the MOA, the CGHMC provides a 30 percent discount on hospital room accommodations and selected laboratory services for media company officers and employees with more than five years of service.
