If you’re a fan of caffeine and helping non-governmental organizations, then head over to this café in Antipolo, Rizal.

Local coffee shop The Weekend Kofi launches the “Angat Buhay” cup, their special edition coffee cup with a “Let us support Angat Buhay Foundation” label on it.

This was inspired by the Angat Buhay Foundation, an NGO headed by former Vice President Leni Robredo. The “Angat Buhay” phrase was used by Robredo as a campaign slogan in her presidential bid in the 2022 National Elections.

“Sarap ng kape. Lasang gobyernong tapat,” the café captioned their announcement post on their Facebook page.

To avail of the cup, you can purchase any of their handcrafted beverages and pay an additional PHP 10.

Don’t fret, though, as the cup is not just for aesthetics. For every Angat Buhay coffee cup purchased, you will be able to donate PHP 10 from your own pocket and another PHP 10 coming from the coffee shop, which makes a total of PHP 20, which will be donated to the Angat Buhay Foundation.

The cafe made it clear in their post that they are not affiliated with the foundation in any way. They added, “Part of proceeds would be donated to the foundation with transparency.”

The Kakampinks or supporters of Robredo, then joined the hype. One anonymous supporter even paid it forward, sponsoring four cups of the Angat Buhay coffee, according to the coffee shop’s page.

“Hi! Sino pwede mag drop by sa shop? Someone sponsored 4 cups of Angat Buhay coffee and wants to be anonymous. Please let us know if you can drop by and pick up at our store. Thank you so much!” the post reads.

The Weekend Kofi is located at 9 ML Quezon St., Brgy. San Roque in Antipolo City, Rizal.
