Reelected Governor Edwin Jubahib vowed to strengthen the province’s “pabahay” (housing) program during his third and final term.
During an interview after his oathtaking Monday, Jubahib said the housing program he launched during his second term will be expanded.
“We just have to strengthen it and we will make sure that the Dabaonons will have their own place to live in,” he said.
He expressed optimism that with the support of the Provincial Board Members and his daughter, newly elected Vice Governor Clarice Jubahib, they can secure funding for more shelter, especially for the poor.
Aside from the housing initiative, Jubahib said he will continue zero-billing in hospitals, scholarship programs and support to indigenous communities through agriculture and livelihood initiatives.
“For every social service program, we will allocate PHP300 million per program, and I am optimistic that we will meet the amount,” Jubahib added.
Clarice, the youngest vice governor elected in the province, pledged to support her father’s programs.
“I am committed to serving the people of Davao del Norte and I promise to support the efforts of the provincial government,” she said. (PNA)
