The local government has opened hotline numbers where Dabawenyos can call or send messages on vaccine-related questions and concerns.
Dr. Josephine Villafuerte, head of the Davao City’s Vaccination Cluster, said Dabawenyos can call or send messages to 0961-073-4965 (Smart) and 0927-022-9087 (Globe).
While the hotline caters to all Dabawenyos, Villafuerte said it would mainly serve senior citizens who are the next priority for vaccination.
“This hotline is for all who have questions and concerns regarding vaccination registration, but most especially to Dabawenyo senior citizens who are next in the priority list of vaccines,” she said.
Given the risks for seniors and other vulnerable persons, she said the hotlines would help those who want to register for vaccination and obtain information on what to do and where to go.
“These numbers, which were initially used as hotline numbers for those experiencing Adverse Effects Following Immunization (AEFI), are now available for Dabawenyos 24/7,” Villafuerte said.
On the other hand, Villafuerte urged senior citizens to get vaccinated, adding that the in-person registration is being done per district in the barangay hall and health centers.
“Initially, those who would like to have themselves listed should go to their district and barangay health centers, but there are others who do not know where their district health offices are or which district they belong so they can ask through the hotlines,” she said.
Currently, the City Health Office has listed more than 120,000 senior citizens in the city under Priority Group A2 to be inoculated as soon as the Priority Group A1 or the frontline workers complete their anti-Covid jabs. (PNA)
