Filipino billiards icon Efren “Bata” Reyes was inducted into the Inaugural World Billiards Hall of Fame during its opening ceremony in Yushan, China, on March 17.

Along with him were outstanding group of inductees, including Chinese snooker star Ding Junhui, who was recognized for making the sport popular in Asia; Ronnie O’Sullivan, seven-time world champion; Raymond Ceuleman, Belgium’s carom legend; Allison Fisher, female veteran cue master; and the late Andre Gagnaux, carom legend and former president of World Billiard Union.

Reyes was recognized as the most prominent figure in his field, known as ‘The Magician,’ having aced over 100 professional tournaments, which made him secure different awards such as seven golds, two silvers, and twelve bronzes from the previous Southeast Asian Games.
