United Airlines announced plans to introduce non-stop flights between Tokyo-Narita and Cebu, with service commencing on July 31. This route marks a significant milestone, as United Airlines becomes the only US carrier to offer direct flights to Cebu.

The addition of the Queen City of the South to United’s network comes as part of the airline’s expansion strategy, which also includes new routes to Marrakesh, Morocco, and Medellin, Colombia, announced on March 7.

The Tokyo-Cebu route will be operated daily, utilizing Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Passengers can expect seamless connections to United’s extensive network of flights to and from US destinations, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Newark-New York, and Houston, via Tokyo-Narita.

In a statement on its website, United emphasized its commitment to providing travelers with unique and diverse travel options. Patrick Quayle, United’s Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances, highlighted the airline’s dedication to discovering new destinations for its customers to explore.

The announcement has generated excitement among travelers, with United Airlines being the first US carrier to offer flights to and from Cebu. Through the new route, passengers traveling between Cebu and mainland US cities will have the convenience of connecting via Tokyo without the need to change airlines.

United Airlines currently operates transpacific flights from the US to the Philippines, with daily service between San Francisco and Manila, as well as flights from Manila to Guam and Palau. The addition of direct flights to Cebu further enhances United’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region, offering passengers more options for international travel.
