Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office (INPPO) will continue to provide free rides to the public even after the Holy Week.

In a statement on Monday, INPPO said its police bus dubbed “Manong Pulis Bus,” which gave free rides during the Holy Week, will remain on standby as the summer season progresses to bring residents and visitors of this city to Pagudpud and Badoc towns and vice versa starting 8 a.m.

“This is part of our continuing effort to bring public service closer to the community. It aims to ease transportation costs for the public and ensure safe and secure travel,” the INPPO said.

From April 19 to 20, a total of 116 passengers benefited from the free rides, according to the latest tally by the Police Community Affairs and Development Office.

INPPO chief Col. Frederick Obar reiterated on Monday that the INPPO remains steadfast in its mission to deliver genuine public service through community-oriented policing.

He likewise lauded the 23 police stations in the province, along with force multipliers and volunteer groups, who had worked tirelessly during the Holy Week.

“The INPPO will continue its focused law enforcement and public safety operations as the summer season progresses,” he said in a statement. (PNA)
