Highlighting the beauty and talent of Filipinos, local actress Kathryn Bernardo proudly wore a stunning gown made by a Pinoy fashion designer, as she recently received a prestigious award in Korea.
On September 21, Kathryn was invited to the award ceremony of the Seoul International Drama Awards 2023 for her notable performance on a local television series.
The Filipino actress was awarded the ‘Most Outstanding Asian Star’ after hitting exceptional views due to her acting skills in ‘2 Good 2 Be True’, which aired in May 2022 through an online streaming platform.
Before the awarding session, Kathryn walked by herself on the red carpet, giving emphasis to the piece that she was wearing, which was made by Filipino fashion designer Martin Bautista.
The actress was wearing a two-piece gown paired with a white silk scarf to give it an elegant look. The gown’s top has a touch of diamond shimmer to give a minimalist yet classy vibe that matches her diamond purse and earrings.
For her makeup and hair, the actress settled on a bun with bangs and fresh makeup that was just in the right tone, along with her gown.
With her elegant but simple outfit, the hosts during the red carpet segment complemented the actress, especially the back details of her gown.
“He just went for a simple and very comfortable one so that I could enjoy the night,” Kathryn explained about her fit.
In an interview after her red carpet walk, Kathryn admitted that she felt nervous as no one assisted her during her walk from the car towards the platform. Hence, the actress still disclosed that she was thankful for the support of Filipinos and fans during the event.
Kathryn expressed her gratitude to the Pinoys who waited outside during the event for giving her the courage and complimenting her outfit during the event. “Naappreciate pa yung dress ko. Sakto, it was made by a Filipino designer, so mas nakakaproud just to be here,” Kathryn said.
During the awarding ceremony, Kathryn received the award along with Thailand actor Gun Atthaphan Phunsawat.
In her speech, she shared how she felt from getting a nomination to actually winning the ‘Most Outstanding Asian Star.’
She also disclosed how her local television series ‘2 Good 2 Be True’ not only helped her to gain such an award but also encouraged its audience to support health workers and educate them about health needs as her character in the series is a nurse.
‘2 Good 2 Be True’ was the first-ever team-up of an online streaming platform and ABS-CBN when it comes to showcasing a Filipino series. The show gave a glimpse on a character who experienced Alzheimer’s disease and also teaches how normal citizens can address such illnesses with the help of healthcare workers.
