ABS-CBN’s multi-awarded educational program “Matanglawin” brought honor to the country after winning at the 3rd Southeast Asia Video Festival for Children (SEAVFC) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Representing the Philippines, “Matanglawin” bested entries from Singapore (“Little Achievers”) and Thailand (“A Melody”) in the Professional Non-Fiction 8-12 years old category of the SEAVFC, a collaboration of ten countries in Southeast Asia to promote, celebrate, and honor the highest quality in youth and children’s television.

Matanglawin’s winning entry “United in Love” featured children who at a young age display selflessness in caring for animals, the environment, and other kids.

A total of 74 entries from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam competed in ten categories this year in the SEAVFC. It aims to foster an appreciation of the different cultures in Southeast Asia, and promote good family traditions that will lead to mutual respect, harmony, and understanding throughout the region.

Apart from the win of “Matanglawin,” the Philippines also took home four other awards in the 2019 SEAVFC. “Matanglawin” airs every Sunday, 9:45am on ABS-CBN. Follow @MatanglawinTV on Facebook and Twitter. Watch online on iwant.ph or skyondemand.com.ph.
