Helping pet owners be with their furbabies for a longer time, an international company has finally granted their wish with its newly innovated drug that can prolong the life of large pets.

Just recently, a biotech company in San Francisco, “Loyal,” disclosed to the public that it has already come up with a drug that can broaden the lifespan of a dog through their drug named “LOY-001.”

The LOY-001 was described as being only used with large pets, noting that most of these species have a shorter lifespan compared to small pets.

According to previous studies, large pets are more inclined to have a short life expectancy because their physical appearance affects their physiological processes, making them age more quickly than other pets.

The application of the drug is just like other vaccinations placed on pets, as it will also be injected by the registered veterinarian as they decide on which body part it will be injected into.

Despite the positive effect of the drug on pets, the company is still performing a series of examinations to determine if the said medication will be safe and effective for large pets. The company also disclosed that this medicine will not be that expensive to give individuals easier access to the medication.

“This is not going to be a rich person drug; this is not going to be something that puts your family in bankruptcy,” Loyal CEO Celine Halioua said in an interview with international media.

When officially released to the public, the biotech company unveiled that they will also be releasing two other drugs for pets, namely the LOY-002, which will be made for all sizes of dogs, and the LOY-003, which will be a pill form of the LOY-001.
