The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) 13 (Caraga Region) handed over 3,000 family hygiene kits to the Dinagat Islands on Thursday.

The kits were received by the province’s officials, led by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).

Dinagat Islands is one of the severely affected provinces in Caraga during the recent onslaught of Typhoon Tino.

The province is now under a state of calamity, as declared by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (Provincial Board) on Wednesday.

“The assistance is part of the national government’s ongoing response to families severely impacted by Typhoon Tino,” the PDRRMC said in a statement.

It noted that the family kits were carefully chosen to address the basic sanitation needs of families whose homes and belongings were damaged or destroyed.

Each kit includes items like toothbrushes and toothpaste, soap and shampoo, towels, sanitary pads, disinfectants, or detergents.

“This highlights OCD’s dedication to providing immediate food, shelter, and supporting long-term health of disaster victims,” the PDRRMC said. (PNA)
