Salute to exemplary leadership and community service: one cadet girl scout (Cdt. G.S.) and four senior girl scouts (Senior G.S.) from Aurelio Arago Memorial National High School, Oriental Mindoro (AAMNH).

The Girl Scouts awarded and recognized were Krissa Garab, Naomi Mindo, Rhaizelyn Escarmoso, Lavenia Bachiller, and Ylir Manguera; they received the highest and most prestigious ‘Chief Girl Scout Medalist’ from the Girl Scouts of the Philippines.

The ceremony was held on November 15 in the Plenary Hall at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City, with over 921 Chief Girl Scout Awardees from batches 2021 to 2022, and 2022 to 2023.

Cdt. G.S. Garab was formerly the Chairman of the AAMNH-Girl Scout Movement; she conducted the health community project “Edukalusugan para sa Batang Matagumpay sa Panahon ng Pandemya” in 2022 and is now taking her bachelor’s degree at Philippine Normal University.

Senior G.S. Escarmoso succeeded in becoming the new Chairman for School Year 2023-2024, alongside Senior G.S. Manguera as Vice Chairman. Recently, on November 9, the AAMNH-Girl Scout Movement joined the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill.

Senior G.S. Mindo shared on Facebook her cultural heritage community project, ‘Pamana’. The project taught the children from Barangay Canaan about the beauty and colorful Mangyan culture. Some of the activities conducted were coloring, bracelet making, and a medical mission.

Senior G.S. Bachiller, alongside Mindo, supported the community project, is also a graduate of AAMNH, and is currently studying at Batangas State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

The girls have shown their appreciation and gratitude to their alma mater, local government officials, daycare workers, troop leaders, co-girl scouts, and all who supported them in finishing their Chief Girl Scout Scheme.

With or without a medal, these girls have dedicated their time and effort to fulfilling the Girl Scouts law: ‘To love God and my country. To help other people every day. To help others every day.’
