Around 551,885 Antiqueños have registered with the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) and have been issued with their national IDs since February 2021.

“We urge those who have not yet registered to take time for the national ID is important whenever they claim their ameliorations or other official transactions,” Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Antique provincial head Randy Tacogdoy said in an interview on Wednesday.

PSA also partnered with the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) for its mobile registration to reach more Antiqueños.

A mobile registration is set for August in the municipality of Barbaza, hence he encouraged residents to avail of their services.

“They just need to bring their birth certificates or barangay certifications in the case of their children who still don’t have birth certificates,” Tacogdoy said.

Simultaneously with the national ID registration, PSA also conducts the Barangay Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) to provide access, especially for those in the geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA), to secure their birth certificates.

“Only recently, we had the mobile BRAP in the barangays of San Remigio,” Tacogdoy said.

He said they assisted 126 persons during their BRAP in the GIDA barangays of Walker, Insubuan and Panpanan II, in San Remigio town. (PNA)
