The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is expecting some 800 overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families to participate in the Family Day 2024 on Dec. 14.

Ma. Socorro Mira, head of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in Dumaguete City, said the event will pay tribute to the OFWs for their sacrifices and contributions to the country.

“This event provides a venue for the OFWs to strengthen their family ties while also connecting with others and sharing their experiences,” Mira told the Philippine News Agency on Tuesday.

The gathering at Robinsons Place mall will have free lunch, games and door prizes.

Registration is free at PESO-Negros Oriental office, where an OWWA desk has been set up.

Meal coupons and raffle tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Only active OFWs can join the activity and are allowed to bring up to two dependents each. (PNA)
